How can I purchase from you?

You can pay using any credit or debit card online using
our safe and secure on-line facility. Alternatively, you can
download an order form and send it to us with either a cheque,
postal order or cash to our address. You can collect in person, but please phone / email us first to arrange a time.

 

What if you can not fulfill my order?

The main reason why we may not be able to fulfil your order is due to you ordering a larger quantity than we can supply. We try very hard to ensure that our website is up to date with stock information and that we stock enough of any item to meet demand.

Unfortunatly, we are occasionally unable to supply. In this instance we will always send out what is available and then put your other items on back order. However, you have the right to...

1) cancel your order entirely.

2) cancel the back order items and receive a refund on 'out of stock' items

3) replace the back order with an item of similar value.

 

We will always send you a confirmation email explaining the situation. In the instance that we can not meet your demand,, please respond before the allocated postage time - otherwise we will send your incomplete order.

When can i expect my items?

Items will usually be dispatched within 3 working days but please allow up to seven. Items will be dispatched upon receipt of cleared funds (e.g. cheque payments may have a longer dispatch time)

How do i know you have my order?

A receipt of the order will be sent to your email address
once it is received. You will also receive a receipt with your
order. Please mention when ordering if you would like telephone confirmation of your order.

What if my order does not arrive or is damaged?

Model-net always obtain proof of posting on items. In the
unlikely event of it being lost or damaged, model-net will seek
compensation from our postal service on your behalf. We strongly recommend you take out postal insurance on items above £32.00 using our 'postage info' page. We will not refund or re-send items until a settlement has been reached with the postal services.

What are Royal Mail definitions regarding this?

For more informtaion, please visit their website by clicking here. Royal Mail will not accept that an item is 'lost' until 15 days after dispatch. They will, however, acknowledge that it has been delayed if it takes more than 5 days to reach its destination (first class).

 

We run our business on good faith and good service. We will always help you obtain compensation from Royal Mail if necessary, but will not be held accountable for mistakes on their part.

What if my item is faulty?

If your item is faulty, please return to us with receipt within
thirty days. You will then be offered a replacement or a refund. Please be aware that Model-net will test items before issuing refunds.

 

We do not store details of each sale, therefore a receipt is essential.

What if i change my mind about my order?

If we have not dispatched your item then we will refund you.

 

IIf it has already been dispatched, please return the item in original, unopened, packaging within seven days with receipt for credit. We will not give refunds on unwanted goods, only credit. We will not refund postage costs on unwanted items.

What if goods i receive are different to my order?

We make every effort to ensure our information is correct. In the unlikely event that our information is incorrect, please return the item with receipt within seven days and we will refund your item and postage costs (as long as your whole order is returned).
However, as Hornby clearly state the product may slightly differ from the description.

Is my item new?

Yes, people do ask this and yes - your item will be new unless clearly stated. Our definition of new is un-run, never been removed from packaging and boxed with no price stickers!

Why do many of your items say 'out of stock' and why do you not stock the full range of Hornby?

Where do we start? A huge number of businesses fail in their first year of trading. We set up in November 2006. We run our business part-time and stock ourselves on a regular basis with new items we can afford to buy. We do not want a bank loan, this would pressure us into making repayments, selling fast and thus driving our prices up.

 

However, if you would like an item which is either displayed as being 'out of stock' or we do not stock please ask! We can provide all 2007 items direct from Hornby at a fraction of their RRP.
